Diamond Crest Girl Scout Service Unit is made up of Scout troops filled with active, enthusiastic leaders and girls; many precious gems. Our troops are the core of scouting in our association and they deserve recognition for their efforts. Your troop, whether its a Brownie, Junior, Cadette, or Senior troop, can have a rich and challenging year in its quest for the Precious Gem Troop award.
The Precious Gem activities have been selected to give you guidance on how to put together a complete program for your troop. Please note that you dont have to do everything thats offered in the Diamond Crest Association, but you do need to venture into all the categories listed here to have a well-rounded Girl Scout experience!
All troops, Leaders and Scouts, fulfilling the Diamond Crest Precious Gem Troop requirements will receive a special troop award!
Heres what you need to do:
1. Use your Precious Gem Troop worksheet (MS Word, PDF) throughout the year to record your activities.
2. Send your completed worksheet by September 1, 2007 to:
Michele Carlsen, 359 Mindanao Drive, Redwood City, CA 94065
Commit to your Precious Gem Troop goals and you will reap the rewards of a well-balanced, active Scouting year. Scouts may earn Try-its, badges and patches as they advance through the Precious Gem Troop worksheet. As you plan your Girl Scout calendar of yearly activities, work in the Precious Gem Troop requirements. Youll be surprised at how easy it is to become a Diamond Crest Precious Gem Troop!!
