We are the Diamond Crest Service Unit (390), a Girl Scout organization within the Girl Scouts of Northern California Council. Our name - Diamond Crest - represents the four locations that are included in our Service Unit: Belmont, Redwood Shores, San Carlos and parts of San Mateo. We were previously known as Bel-Carlos.
The continual high percent of participation in our organization can be attributed to the traditions, quality programs and dedicated volunteer that make up Diamond Crest. In addition to the usual activities associated with girl scouting (cookies, Thinking Day, camping, badges) our scouts participate in community service activities, "pow-wows", "sock-hops", "Rally Day" and spend a few days each summer on an extended "Ladybug Picnic."
Membership
Diamond Crest Girl Scouts participate in 116 troops, and attend over 50 schools. As of January 2010, Diamond Crest had over 1350 registered girls and over 1,000 registered adults.
Council
The Girl Scouts of Northern California organizes staff support for members and programs into three areas: The North Coast Area, The North Central Area and The Greater Bay Area, which Diamond Crest Service Unit belongs to. Diamond Crest is one of the largest Service Units withing our Council.
Fund Raising
Diamond Crest Service Unit is consistently one of the highest contributors to Family Partnership for the Girl Scouts of Northern California. For the 2009-2010 scouting year, we have collected $12,948 to date. Our Diamond Crest goal is to collect an average of about $15 per registered girl.
