Description
We are the Diamond Crest Association, a girl scouting organization within the Girl Scout of San
Francisco Bay Area Council. Our name, Diamond Crest reflects the four locations that are included
in our Association: Belmont, San Carlos, Redwood Shores and parts of San Mateo. Previously we had
been known as Bel-Carlos.
The continual high percent of participation in our organization can be attributed to the traditions,
quality programs and dedicated volunteers that make up Diamond Crest. In addition to the usual activities
associated with girl scouting (cookies, Thinking Day, camping, badges), our scouts participate in community
service activities, "pow-wows", "sock-hops", and spend a few days each summer on an extended
"Ladybug picnic."
Membership
Girl Scout of San Francisco Bay Area Council covers five counties (San Mateo, San Francisco, Marin, Contra Costa, Alameda)
and is divided into 35 Associations. Diamond Crest is the fourth largest association in the council and includes Belmont,
San Carlos, Redwood Shores and part of San Mateo.
As of June 2005, Diamond Crest had 1266 registered girls and 1054 registered adults for the 2004-2005 scouting year.
Re-registration figures: 1029 of the girls were re-registering and 237 were new.
